On one hand there are number of students who come from different countries to study in UK, and there is a lot of revenue that is being generated through this. This is beneficial for both students and the Universities of UK. However there is increase seen in the number of students coming from other countries to study. But due to new policies a loss of 40 billion pound is expected. The committee report amounts to a scathing critique of government plans to try and reduce net immigration by introducing new controls on students applying to study in the UK. The MPs complain of "a policy based on flawed evidence" and urge ministers to rethink proposals that "could cripple the UK education sector".
Write now current the level of entry of students to UK is about 200,000 a year down to tens of thousands. And many students from EU are coming to British school and colleges. The committee, however, estimates that the foreign students coming to learn English "contribute roughly £1.5 billion to the economy and are estimated to be responsible for 30,000 jobs".
