Lady Liberty is about to have an exceptional anniversary celebration and as part of the commemoration, the public can vote on a new, special logo.
The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World was a gift of companionship from the people of France to the peoples of the United States and is a universal emblem of flexibility and democracy. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886, designated as a National Monument in 1924 and refurbished for her centennial on July 4, 1986. The Statue of Liberty‘s 125th celebration will be commemorated starting October 28. The National Parks Service and New Jersey City University worked simultaneously to conceive 10 likely logos to be utilized in commemoration of the year long observance. Students conceived the logos and now the public will be adept to choose a favorite.
The logo is going to be used for pins people can buy, commemorative pins using the logo design for the 125th anniversary,” said Jane Ahern of the National Parks Service. “It will be on banners on the island as well.”
You can vote from now until July 18. To see the logos and cast your vote, visit nps.gov/stli. For more details you can contact National Park at:
