Another way to clear a blocked passage is through steam inhalation, as steam makes the mucus thinner and provides relief, says Shalabh Sharma, ENT Consultant at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi. Rinsing blocked nose with a saline solution, made at home by dissolving 1 tsp of salt in a cup of lukewarm water could also provide temporary relief from cold.
