I shifted to Virgin islands, Puerto Rico last year and some of my friends send me friendship day wishes on my mail. I am wondering to know what friendship day means here. I have asked some friends here but they also did not understand the concept of this day. I am confused with this thing and looking for some serious help here. Can someone tell me the details about this friendship day? I would be really thankful for this favor. Thanks in advance for the time.

Hey there, same thing happened to me on 10th October last year and I asked some of my friends living in Puerto Rico about this and then they explained this to me as: The friendship day is to celebrate the cultural ties between the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. They celebrate it on the same day as Columbus Day, since a lot of people here do not believe in celebrating Columbus. After this I got the answer to my question. I think different localities have their own traditions and cultures. If someone wishes you something like this do not get confused with it just try to celebrate their happiness. And this is good to always discover about new things for your general knowledge. Yu can ask your friends from Puerto Rico directly about this. They could have give you a better answer and better explanation about this. Anyways what I have in my knowledge I told you. Hope this would give a brief concept. Best of luck.
