    A three-hour alcohol ban was put in pubs and clubs in Australia in a move which will help curb alcohol fuelled violence. Hotels and clubs will have to close between 4:00-7:00am under proposed changes to be put to State Parliament.
    Assistant Commissioner Tony Harrison said there was concern about the link between alcohol consumption and crime. The Australian Hotels Association has condemned the planned changes.
