    Toyota's third-generation Avalon underwent a complete redesign in the year 2004 for the  model in the year 2005,it was unveiled to the public at the 2005 North American International Auto Show, this model was sold from February. The third generation Avalon was larger than the previous versions of Avalons in every aspect. It featured less conservative and more modern Calty styling. It has a drag of 0.29 Cd. Avalon was the first car of Toyota that used a single piece wiper blade design. Safety features of this vehicle included redesigning the dropped front bench seat option, a feature that is common in Large American Sedans such as Buicks and Cadillac’s, in order to help in increase of the rear passenger comfort.

    The Avalon was also the first Toyota that used due VVT-I in the US market and also it was the first car that used a new 3.5 litre 2GR-FE V6 engine which met the ULEV certification and also had a power output of 280 hp, the 0-60 mph time was about 6.0 seconds. The engine was combined with 5 speed sequential shift automatic. The new series and model of Avalon came in four trims, a standard XL trim, a sporty Touring trim and a premium Limited trim. The new XL model came with a standard 16 inch alloy wheels while all the other trims came with a much larger 17 inch wheels. The performance oriented tires were fitted to the Touring and the Limited trim. Toyota Avalon received “Good” score in both Highway Safety frontal offset and the side impact tests. This 2011 model of Toyota Avalon 2011 was also nominated for the safest car in the world.
