Coron Island Palawan is a wedge-shaped limestone island, with some of its coastal area being enclosed by mangrove forests. It has seven lakes, well renowned of which is the nationally-acclaimed cleanest lake in the Philippines, the Kayangan Lake. It furthermore has several islands with white sandy coastlines and clear azure waters flawless for snorkeling, deep sea angling and shipwreck diving. Here are some more places to see in Coron Palawan Philippines: • Mt. Tapyas - a 30-minute trek from the village correct, Mt. Tapyas presents a breathtaking outlook of Coron Island, the residential localities, the commercial buildings, the greenery of Coron and the street to Busuanga. A staircase of hundred steps directs to the spacious outlook deck with a monster traverse on peak of Mt. Tapyas. • Maquinit Hot Spring - established at Bgy. Tagumpay opposite the route of Coron Bay, it can be reached by tricycle from Poblacion for 15 minutes or by boat. A drop in the warm jump is an invigorating experience after an annoying hike. • Malcapuya Island - an attractive Island with very fine white sand seashore just like Boracay but without construction. • Culion - the former leper colony. The public vessel departs Coron village at 12 noon every day and comes back at 7:30 am the next day. • Siete Pecados - popularized by the fire of a localized TV display of a mermaid love story. Experience bathing in an aquarium, attractive corals and a large kind of fishes. Recommended time to snorkle is round 1pm to 2pm. This is one of the best sites to snorkel in Coron. • Barracuda Lake - established beside the Kayangan Lake, it is furthermore a Hall of Fame Awardee for the Cleanest and Greenest Lake in the country. Its title is drawn from an article passed on from generation to generation that two monster barrucadas reside in the lake. But its allure lies in its shimmering emerald waters. • Kayangan Lake - before going to lake, go over the cave and glimpse at the large outlook on peak of the mountain. This outlook is the most photographed locality in Palawan. It is furthermore judged as the cleanest lake in the country.
