     The Aztec empire fell to the Spanish Empire. Hernan Cortes started the campaign in February 1519 and succeeded in capturing the Aztec empire when they capture the capital, Tenochtitlan, on August 13, 1521. Cortes lead a group of Spanish forces and native Tlaxcalan warriors during this campaign.
