Both David Villa and Fernando Torres have starred for their clubs and country but Villa’s performances in Spain’s latest World Cup qualifying campaign may well put him ahead of his Liverpool-based compatriot.

    Both are world-class strikers but Fernando Torres edges it, for me.

    He's proven in the Premier League that he can effortlessly adapt and has gone on to become one of the best strikers in arguably the fastest league in Europe. He also stood up to be counted by scoring in the biggest game of his career - Spain's Euro 2008 Final.

    Another sign of his talent: establishing himself as Liverpool's most indispensible player along with Steve Gerrard and getting himself on a par with the Liverpool captain.
