Ra became the Sun God for Egyptians by the Fifth Dynasty which lasted from 2949 to 2345 BC. He has been represented with the Sun and throughout its history has been merged with multiple Gods, from Atum to Horus, and was believed to rule the sky, earth, and underground. He represents the sun as to Egyptians the sun represents light, warmth and growth and they believed that Ra created all forms of life.
