    Sir John A Macdonald was the first Prime Minister of Canada. Macdonald’s first was in office from 1867 to 1873 and then from 1878 to 1891. PM Macdonald served 19 years as the Prime Minister, which is the second longest behind William Lyon Mackenzie King.
