Iran was suspect by the Justice Department of sponsoring contrive to assassinate Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the U.S. in a conspiracy engaging a secret Iranian infantry unit and a civilian of the Islamic Republic with a U.S. passport.

Two Iranian citizens Manssor Arbabsiar and Gholam Shakuri were accused with plan to use a weapon of huge destruction. They are blamed to have the C-4 plastic explosives, to kill Saudi Ambassador Adel Al-Jubeir and attack Saudi equipments in the U.S. in a plan emerged earlier this year. Targets included "foreign government amenities related with Saudi Arabia and with another country," the U.S. said in a complaint filed in Manhattan federal court.

The planner, one of them who is in U.S. custody, also embattled Israel's embassy in Washington, as well as the embassies of Israel and Saudi Arabia in Argentina, according to a federal law enforcement representative familiar with the matter.

The suspected plan was "directed and approved by fundamentals of the Iranian government," according to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holde. "High-up officials in those agencies, which is an vital part of the Iranian government, were answerable."

Iran said it firmly discarded the claim, which it illustrates as an "evil plot."
