   On Monday, popular country music duo Brooks & Dunn announced that they will split after a farewell tour next year. Brooks and Dunn enjoyed a huge success together for nearly twenty years.
   
   Several music industry observers were stunned and surprised over the statement made by the famous duo 54-year-old Kix Brooks and 56-year-old Ronnie Dunn, that the time for split has come.
   
   Singer/guitarists Brooks and Dunne said in a statement,
   The dates of their next year’s farewell tour are yet to be announced. Back in 1991, Brooks and Dunn hit the charts for the first time. Soon they became the biggest-selling duo in history of country’s music. According to Nielsen SoundScan, in United States the duo sold 22.3 million albums.
   
   The U.S. country singles charts were topped by them 20 times with tunes such as “Brand New Man,”, the title track from their debut album and a patriotic 2001 anthem, “Only in America,”. The anthem was used during the election campaign by both parties. The duo also performed at several Republican events.
   
   Brooks and Dunn also won a couple of Grammy awards and dozens of other music related honors.
