    Hi,
The Boston Massacre occured because Bristish soldiers were provoked by the colonists of Boston when they threw ice, stones, and snowballs at the soldiers. This led to the deaths of five men when the British soldiers panicked and fired a shot. The colonists first threw snow and ice at the soldiers because they didn't want the British in their city. They were unhappy the different acts passed by the British that taxed different goods because they had no representation in British Parliment. Furthermore, the colonists despised the increased troop concentration in the city of Boston used to enforce the collection of taxes. Many of these troops took part-time jobs in Boston, which took jobs away from local colonists. This increased the tension between the British and the colonists.
