slows down wired computer as well as wireless lap top.  works great when connected directly from modem to computer.

    Hi,
    Have you called your internet provider? It sounds like less of your problem and more of their problem. I have 5 computers on the network I have set up. Even over wireless on 2 of them I'm still geting a 54 mbps connection. The only time my internet is that slow is when my internet provider is having issues.
