Frogs are carnivorous.  They eat bugs, worms, etc. Recently, I have noticed that toads in my yard like to raid the cat food dish and eat bits of kibble, but this is very new and different behavior for toads (as compared to the toads I observed when I was growing up.) I have had African clawed frogs (entirely aquatic frogs) that ate bits of their aquarium plants when left alone for the weekend, but they are unusual.  They are tongueless frogs that eat things that they find as well as live food.
