   Hi,
   You did not use the Cortate for a long enough time to cause damage to your son.  I would have the doctor prescribe Elidel or Protopic which are non steroids and very safe even if you hear they are not.  I would try Protopic twice a day as it is usually stronger then Elidel.  Your son has a skin condition called Atopic Dermatitis.  You can go to the web site
