    Hi,
Your movement should have reset itself for chiming and striking sequences automatically.  The problem you relate is generally caused by moving the hands backwards.  Since you did not do this we must look elsewhere for cause.  I believe, somehow, the lifting and cocking mechanism has gotten out of sync.  At this time the how is not as important as to how to correct.  To help you solve this problem I will briefly discuss how this works.  You will not want to do anything about this but you need to know.  Under your clocks dial and attached to the hour hand tube is what is called a star wheel.  This wheel has four teeth, one of which is longer than any of the others.  This tooth and this tooth only has the ability to lift the cocking lever high enough to allow an hour to be struck.  Since your hour is not striking you will have to manually manipulate this tooth into its proper position.  To do this you will have to stop the clock, and rotate manually the minute hand, and make the clock chime, at this point you could care less what quarter strikes, you just want it to strike.  Each time the clock chimes let it complete its cycle. then make it happen again buy moving the minute hand forward.  Ultimately you will be rewarded by the forth quarter chime.  At this point remove the minute hand from the clock, by removing the hand nut and pulling the hand away.
Examine the hand and you will see a brass bushing which fits onto the minute hand shaft.  Take a pair of pliers and turn that bushing sufficient to when you test fit the hand it will fall over 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes.  With this done you can now reinstall the hand, straight up for the 4thQ. Replace the s***w and start the clock, you should be okay.  I do hope I have not made this description to difficult.  I do want to help you and have attempted to relate to you the information I would have provided you in one of my classes.  Best wishes for your sucess.
