   i wouldnt say it was defining for canadians. they did greatly contribute but it wasnt a defining moment in history for canadians

   talk about the fact how it was the largest amphious operation in the world.

   
   

   Also the fact that D day put hold on the germans terror through europe ( eventually leading to the end of the holocost) and it made the germans weiry of an attack from the Russian on the esatern front Lastly if this operation never took place then Nazism and a Hilter plan to creat the perfect race may have been more successful( and possibly still alive today)
