does ice melt faster in light or dark?

The ice would melt faster in the light which is quite obvious. This is because heat is absorbed from the light to the ice causing it to melt. When there is light, temperature increases and so does heat. Ice is a solid. + heat = liquid. - heat = solid (doesn't change).
