Question:

ferry schedule to Elafonisi, or is staying on the mainland just as good?

I may drive a rental car from Omalos to Elafonisi.  I would arrive at around 9 pm.  Would ferries still be running at this time?  I can't find an online resource for schedules.

I keep reading that people can just wade across from the mainland to the Island.  Does it really make a difference to stay on the island then, as opposed to somewhere close to the beach on the mainland?

    you can walk to get to elafonisi from the main land. water's depth  is 0.5m max to get threre! its an island that you can walk to it. easy to cross. the sand is pink. you can find a place where you can be almost alone. Water suplies needed. just perfect!!
