   The decade of 1980’s was full of events and with some strange news and happenings, there were some great sensational stories and events that took place. But it was also termed as a year of rampage in which there was selfishness with power.
   
   The Falklands Conflict:
   
   The Falkland conflict happened in the 1980’s and there was a great deal of interest for the people to join the Navy. People were talking about  the cost of torpedoes and missles which lead to South Atlantic which was packed with troops.
   
   The Thawing of the Cold War:
   
   There was this cold war that happened in the decade of 1980’s. The BBC also took coverage on this news and project which told us and the viewers about the horrific consequences and the aftermath of the nuclear war. There was also a great hype created by the media at that time and George Bush resurrected the idea for the 21st century. Channels were over focused on the war, its causes and its remedies. There were also lot of movies which were made about the US taking over Soviets.
   
   Ireland:
   
   There was a great happening in the Ireland also where  lots of people in the North seemed going  separate and distant, and there was a hunger strike which was continued and thus it was decided that due to hunger people were dying so the this rage or movement activity should be stopped.
   
   Strike of the Miners:
   
   The miners in the 1980’s went on strike, they were fighting for their rights against the UK government. It was a restless era at the beginning of 1980’s.
   
   One of the biggest happenings in the decade of 1980’s was the discovery of AIDS. It was first in 1987 when a person with pneumonic infection was bought to the hospital and found non responsive to medicines of bronchitis . Famous Hollywood actor Rock Hudson also died of this deadly disease.
