    Hi There,
Cheetah Transportation was formed  in January 1998.  It was created to service the Houston area petro-chemical industry and related businesses that support those companies.  Their primary focus is the truck transportation of time-critical freight from Houston to anywhere in the continental U.S.  Although it is a new company, The foundation of the company is our employees.  Almost everyone is a former employee of one of a best Hot Shot company in Houston.  Each person was selected based on his or her knowledge, experience, and team player attitude.  They have worked together before, in some cases for as much as fifteen years produces a cohesive team dedicated to returning to our roots of quality and personal service. they are the preferred shippers for many of the chemical plants in Houston, Deer Park, LaPorte, Texas City, Mt. Belvieu, Freeport, and Point Comfort.  Cheetah utilizes primarily contract drivers.  They use a four-day background and orientation process for each new driver.  This process includes 10 years of previous employment history, criminal, and driving background checks, physicals, drug screening, vehicle and equipment inspections, and Key Map testing.  The drivers are uniformed and insured by Cheetah's auto liability and cargo policy.  In addition to stringent hiring practice, Driver Services and Safety Directors ensure that they are in compliance with all Federal, State, and local requirements.  Safety, DOT compliance and customer service issues are addressed at quarterly Driver Safety Meetings.
The heart of Cheetah’s operations is DataTrac’s Courier Order Processing System (COPS), a computerized system that  monitors orders from the time it is received until it is delivered.  The Pick Up order is sent to drivers via DataTrac’s wireless eTrac system that keeps drivers in touch nationwide.  On May 5th, 2002, Cheetah moved into their new terminal in Alvin, Texas.  This state-of-the-art facility has 7,000 square feet of offices and 7,000 square feet of warehouse space.  They have 30 employees, and 138 trucks of various capacities.  In addition to the main terminal, there is an office in Kenner, Louisiana that supports another 4  Cheetah’s Operations Center is staffed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
