   mutation changes the DNA or physical traits of a being. it can either enhance the physical capability or reduces one. mutation doesn't always mean super powers. sometimes mutation is triggered by evolution. like if ancestors of someone were hill climbers and it remain so for no of generations then there are chances that new generation within this ancestry will have features or skill, that will support hill climbing, more than others. so its something like that. it cant be felt but it gets prominent if you compare your self with others on a trait.

   Actually, barring mutagenic, damging substances (radioactive,substances, chemicals, etc.) mutation is a completely random occurance, not brought about by specific environental conditions. It becomes 'evolution" when there is breeding pressure on this trait. For example: Clown fish. They are bottom feeders, along with the poisonous stinging sea anemone. Many of their ancestor would be caught by the enemone and eaten, but a few randomly, for no other reason than a crazy change in genes, developed a mucous coating over their bodies, making them invulnerable to the anemones poison. Because these mutants were able to survive better and breed  while most of their unprotected bretheren were eaten alive, their genes prevailed and future generations of clownfish carried on teh mucous trait. The end result is this, you don't becomse a mutant, i.e. you can't "mutate" like you see in sci-fi movies. You can only be born one, and most of the time mutations are either small, unnoticeable, yield no advantage, or are plain harmful. they don't yield special powers like optic blasts or claws, and radiation on a fully developed individual is only going to poison them. hope this helps.
