how can i shut off the emergeny call on a southern telecom emg900

the phone seems to be in emergency call mode because it beeps loudy and repeatedly if i press the SOS button on the phone the phone begins to play the emergency message. the only way to stop this is to press the speaker phone button but then u can't turn off the speaker phone or the beeps continue
