how could you seperate zinc chloride from SiO2

    Hi,
    Separate them based on solubility. Zinc chloride is soluable in diethyl ether and acetone. SiO2 is not soluble in either. So take up the mixture in either diethyl ether or acetone and filter it. The SiO2 will be retained by the filter and the zinc chloride will be in the filtrate.
