how portable internet works
Tags: internet, Portable
Portable internet particularly found on smartphones and tablets is an amazing aspect of our lives that allows a level of connectivity few could even imagine 15 years ago. Portable internet works when small packets of information are sent to mobile devices via cellular radio transmitters over the GSM network such devices operate on.
An access point name (APN) is assigned in order for devices to connect to the general packet radio services (GPRS) for readily available internet connectivity. The APN allows the device to be idenitified by the right GSM network.
