After use, an E2 - F3 (or F2 - E3?) error was displayed. Now, broiler (upper) element will not shut off even though display is cleared. Oven is now disconnected at the circuit breaker. Model on tag is RF388LXKP.

Sounds like you have a bad circuit board. The E2-F3 error indicates the temperature of the oven exceeded the set temperature. If the temperature exceeds the setting by approximately 35 degrees, this error happens. This is caused by the circuit board incorrectly sending signals to ignite the oven, even though the internal temperature sensor is not commanding it. I had the same problem. The part costs approximately 190.00 and with labor you will be looking at around 350.00 for total repair. 350.00 is about half the price of a new oven.
