   Hi There,
   Sounds like the bird is ready to be on its own at this age. You will have to intervene and remove the nest and bird. I don't know how you can reach it but if you gently destroy the nest the bird will fall to the bottom of the chimney pot. Yes, they do nest in vertical spaces in trees but they are not as vertical or as smooth as a chimney side. And they cannot vertically take off.
