   Try removing the cartridges from your Lexmark X5470. While cover is open, check for any foreign objects that may have caused the loud noise. Check for any loose connections inside the printer. When it seems clear, close the covers. Unplug the printer from the power source. Wait for 10-15 seconds. Plug printer back to power source. If it's still making loud clicking noise, it's a hardware problem. If that's the case, call Lexmark at 1-800-LEXMARK(1-800-539-6275). I hope your printer is still within warranty. If it's not making the noise, proceed on reloading the cartridges. Close the covers. Let it print the alignment page without cancelling it. Hope that fixes the problem.
