When we did load of towels in our Maytag Bravo the load became slightly unbalanced and there was water on the floor, the water came from beneath the machine, we dried the water up and later did two loads and no leak, is this something thats normal or is one of the seals broken?

Mine leaks also.  Brand new.  Worked fine fro two weeks then leaking started.  It happens towards the end of the rinse cycle.  Leaks internaly, a high pressure spray, which part of comes out the drain line hole in the back.  Similiar machine, whirpool I think, before this did the same thing.  Different brands but the manufacuter is the same.
