    Go to the school from where you did your X & XII and obtain certified extracts and apply to the board (preferably route it through the principal of the school). Attach the certified extracts with the application. Keep a duplicate set of the documents and submit to the board as an advance copy.keep one set of all the documents for your personal record. Preserve them even after you obtain fresh ones from the board. Generally these marks cards bear the signature of the principal of the schooll. So if you get marks cards directly from the board,you may have to go to school again to get principal signature affixed on the fresh ones. And one more thing, And make sure,you don't commit such mistake in future as marksheets/degrees are hard earned. Sometimes, i wish there were something to manage papers. You know, yesterday I found this interesting community on Facebook "Clip to Click", where they seem to be talking about an innovative way of managing your docs

Keep a duplicate set of the documents and submit to the board as an advance copy.keep one set of all the documents for your personal record. Preserve them even after you obtain fresh ones from the board. And also one suggestion so that you don't face the similar situation of losing valuable papers in future and i.e., to subscribe to some professional document management services like i did. Actually, i recently subscribed to services of 'kleeto', which is India's first document management service that provides both physical and online storage of your documents.Further, you can retrieve documents whenever you need them. As of now, they are offeriing free trial services. Trust me, i am absolutely free from paper issues now. Now, i don't need to waste my time managing them.
