You most likely need a new stat capacitor.  Write down the values from the old one, and either order online or take to an appliance-repair or electric-motor shop.

If you can change this small cylindrical part yourself, you can save around 50% by ordering online.  There are only 2 connections to it, and usually one s***w holding it down via a clip, so it's very simple to change.

If you can't find the exact values (a range is indicated - it will be something like 200-240mfd if 115v or half or 1/4th that is 220v), matching the lower value is more important than the higher one.
