Thanks for an interesting read. i know we talk about it in our company all the time. i have probably read most articles on repeat traffic and bounce rate and we are in process of applying lot of it to our site.  Another way to get a repeat traffic is to offer a newsletter that is full of useful information and allow people to also read it on your website.

I can't be specific on your particular situation without knowing more but I have 13 different palms including the ubiquitous P. canariensis and, on my own experience will make a few suggestions.

How big is the pot? The immediate thing that springs to mind is 'pot bound'. The Phoenix (of any strain) is not a house plant. I have a canariensis that I kept in a very large pot as a house plant for few years. Since I keep an eye on it all the time I was able to notice when It suddenly started to look sick so I decided it was time for the garden so I moved it out. The mistake I made was to take out in the wrong time of the year but I guess we all live and learn. I still have it but it is now smaller than what it use to be. The point of all this is, though, that at 6 feet Phoenix palms are not very happy in pots. You could try moving your palm to a larger pot or, although it is less hardy than the canariensis, you could try it in the garden with fleece in winter for a couple of years.

Sorry I can't be more help but without seeing it and its environment I'm afraid I can't be more exact. But I hope this gives you something to work on.
