   Hi,
   Rhonda Walker has been waking Detroiters up with weekday news for 11 years with her incredible energy, enthusiasm, impeccable style and passion for her hometown.
   
   A confessed morning person her alarm rings daily at 2:30am! Since 2003, she has held the position of weekday morning news anchor on “Local 4 News Morning” at the NBC affiliate in Detroit, WDIV-TV for five of her six years at Local 4.
   
   In 2007, the talented and versatile journalist took a break from the morning news and held a dual position of evening co- anchor and health reporter. Prior to this assignment Walker has held the positions of Noon News Anchor at Local 4, along with hosting and producing “4 Your Children”, a dynamic, compelling segment targeting parents and children.
   
   Walker also provides daily newscasts for our Web site www.clickondetroit.com.
   
   Throughout her life Walker has been committed to serving the Detroit area community.
   
   She is an active member of the Renaissance Chapter of the Links, Inc. She is a partner with Cornerstone Schools, member of the Winning Futures Mentor Collaboration and the Founder and President of the Rhonda Walker Foundation for inner city teen girls.
   
   Walker logs nearly 100 appearances a year as a motivational speaker, host or volunteer with community projects and by sharing her time and enthusiasm in support of charities and corporate outreach.

She received the Michigan Business and Professional Association’s Distinguished Leadership in Media Award (2009), the Alternatives for Girls Role Model Award (2008), the Michigan Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), 2008 SCLC Broadcast TV/Media Award, the Michigan Chronicle’s Woman of Excellence Award (2008), the Minerva Education and Development Foundation’s (MEDF) Women of Courage-Women of Change Award (2008), Compuware’s African American Employee Resource Group’s Flame of Inspiration Award (2008), the Sparky Anderson CATCH Foundation’s 2007 Neal K. “Doc” Fenkell Excellence in Media Award, the 100 Black Men of Greater Detroit, Inc. 2007 Excellence in Mentoring award, the "Winning Futures" Community Involvement Award, the "Metro Detroit Mentor Collaboration" Mentor of the Year Award, the Salvation Army Distinguished Service Award; the Detroit Fire Department Community Service Award; the "National Association of Black Women" Community Involvement Award; the Black Women Contracting Best Mentorship Award, The Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
