Question:

switching to view mode canon rebel

I am a new rebel owner.  I powered on the camera but only get the menu screen.  How do I transition to the viewfinder to take a picture?

    I asked this question incorrectly.  I am used to using a Powershot where I can view the image I wish to take a picture using the LCD screen.  I was not able to do this with the Rebel.  I discovered last night I could use the LCD screen using the Live View mode.  However, there are some drawbacks with that as well, as all of the pictures I took with Live View were not as crisp as those I shot using the viewfinder.  The issue is one of having to learn a new way to take pictures.
