    Hi,
    Mostly it is a combination of recordable CD and burning software that locks he drive up. I believe that the issue lies with the ASPI interface on the machine. How to fix is to remove the burning software. This is not an option so this is something you have to live with...

    Only way to get the drive out is to restart the PC and while it is booting up BEFORE IT GETS TO WINDOWS LOADING SCREEN eject the disk. This works 100% of the time I find it at work.
