According to timeanddate.com/calendar/?year=1966&country=44, it was 23 Jan on Eid-al-Fitr in Jordon in 1966. However, it can vary if you born in any other part of the world. Eid ul-Fitr, or Eid al-Fitr celebrations continue for three-days. Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated throughout the world at the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. Eid is an Arabic word that means "festivity", while Fiṭr means "conclusion of the fast". So it is the holiday that celebrates the conclusion of the thirty days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan. The first day of Eid, therefore, falls on the first day of the month Shawwal. Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated for three days. Common greetings during this holiday are the Arabic greeting ‘Eid Mubārak ("Blessed Eid") or ‘Eid Sa‘eed("Happy Eid"). Sunnah of Eid • Wake up early is the Sunnah. • Prepare for your personal cleanliness during Eid. You should take care of details of clothing, etc. • Take a bath (Ghusul) after Fajr. • Clean your teeth with Miswak. • Dress up correctly and try to wear best clothes available, whether new or cleaned old ones. • Using perfume is another Sunnah. • You have to take breakfast on Eid-al-Fitr before leaving for prayer ground. • It is advised to Pay Zakaat-al-Fitr before Salaat-al-Eid. • It is best to go to prayer early. • Offer Salaat-al-Eid in congregation in an open place except when there is rain, snow, etc. • Using two different routes to and from the prayer ground is another Sunnah.
