    Hi,
    Open Internet Explorer (IE).

Note: The compatibility test only works with IE, so if you are accustomed to using another browser, you have to specifically switch browsers to successfully perform this test.
Go to the Yahoo! Messenger help page How to Test Your Webcam for Compatibility with Yahoo! Messenger.
If you’ve verified that your webcam is compatible with Yahoo! Messenger, but are still having trouble broadcasting, the next step is to uninstall and re-install your webcam software.

Manufacturer software driver installation instructions can vary. We recommend that you refer to the documentation and installation CD that came with your webcam. You can usually start by uninstalling your webcam software then re-installing it. We’ve provided some basic information about uninstalling and re-installing.

To uninstall your webcam software driver:

Click Start from the taskbar in the lower-left corner of your computer screen and open the Control Panel on your computer.

    Click Add or Remove Programs.

Select the webcam software you wish to uninstall, click Remove.

Click Yes on the confirmation window.

    To re-install your webcam software:

Unplug your webcam from your computer.
    Reboot your computer.
Insert your webcam’s manufacturer installation CD into the CD-ROM drive and follow the installation prompts.
Note: If the setup program doesn’t start automatically within a few seconds, you need to manually start the installation process.

To manually start the installation process:

Click Start from the taskbar in the lower-left corner of your computer screen.

Open the Run window and type d:\setup in the text area.

Note: The “d” indicates the path to your CD-ROM drive. If your CD-ROM drive is located in a different path, you need to replace the “d” with the correct path.
If you’ve downloaded the most recent software driver from the webcam manufacturer’s website, run that installation program now.

Note: Most webcam manufacturers maintain the latest webcam software drivers on the download or support areas of their website. Just download it and save it to your computer.
Follow the instructions provided by the webcam setup program.

Note: Plug in your webcam USB cord only when prompted. (This is usually done after rebooting your computer.)
We hope this webcam re-installation information helped you get your webcam working with Yahoo! Messenger.
