I have invited some Sikh friends on diwali and I don't know what Sikhs like to eat on diwali. If anyone knows please tell me.

Normally sweets or deserts are served on the day of Diwali. But it is not necessary. You can serve anything of your choice to your Sikh friend during Diwali. Diwali or Deepavali, is commonly known as the "festival of lights". It is an important five-day festival for Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains. It is celebrated in all parts of the world with zeal and zest. The festival takes place between mid-October and mid-November. People celebrate the event by performing traditional activities together in their homes. The days of Deepavali or Diwali celebrations are official holidays in India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Nepal, Mauritius, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Fiji, Malaysia, Singapore, and Suriname. During Diwali friends, relatives and neighbors invites their love ones and exchange sweets and other gifts, a very popular custom of the festival. One cannot imagine Diwali without sweets and savories that are specially made at home for guest and for family members. Other than sweet dishes, there are several other recipes that are made on the occasion of Diwali such as Dahi-bhalle and Ghathiya. The Diwali cuisines also depend upon the family traditions and culture which vary from north to south and east to west India.
