what does a flashing red light mean

I have my Denon 788 Reciever running in order to play my playstation 3 and recently after a couple minutes of play it shuts off and the standby red light flashes continuously

     The fast flashing of the red power light is an indication of of an overload, or overheat, fault.  In my case, it was preceaded by a loud POW through my speakers.  I wish that I could advise you on how to correct your problem, but I don't know how.  Sorry that I can't be more helpful.  I ended up going back to my old Rotel/Adcom system and shelving the Denon, for now: been out of work for three years.  Anyway, good luck, Bill Ecklor
