   One of the best ways to prevent Printer error code “3501” from happening is to install latest version of firmware. To update firmware manually you can place the calibration sheet over the scanner and press START button. You can then click the HELP icon and select Maintenance option. From there, select Firmware Upgrade option and follow the instructions given there to download the latest firmware version; free of cost.
