   First off, all these little .22's with the exception of most current plastic ones are going up in value pretty d**n fast. The discontinued ones in bolt action, lever action and some semi autos can be as much as 1,000.00. Your 581 could go for as much as 300.00. And keep going up with the years.  Look at the gun auction sites, that is a pretty good indication of what folks are willing to shell out.
   The books will always be behind the market. So to use them for a reference is a hit and miss.
