   this is very open ended questions but i can summarize it in a simple way for you.  a lawyer is a highly paid prostitute who always gets paid. so the main task of a lawyer is to make money.  there are all kinds of lawyers; business lawyers, criminal lawyers, family lawyers etc. what happened to the good old day when "Hand shake was the word of God", lot less deals were broken those days compared to today when the contracts are longer than jay Leno's chin.
