who is Gwar and what are they all about?

   Gwar is a heavy metal/thrash metal band that was formed in 1984. Their name doesn't really mean everything except according to Dave Brockie (founding member) it means everything: "...it doesn't mean g*y Women Against Rape. It doesn't mean Great White Aryan Race. It doesn't mean g*y Weird Anal Reprobates. It doesn't even mean God What an Awful Racket. It just means Gwar, which means everything pretty much."
   
   They can usually be seen on stage in sci-fi/horror costumes. Their acts are intended to be humorous and are also gory.
