why people living in london buy oyster card

planning my trip for london and I am confused. Reading on the internet, some people say buy the oyster card while others say buy travelcard. What is the best and why do locals buy oyster over travelcard?

    locals buy oyster card cause it is cheaper and save times standing in ques.

    it depends longer trips oyser, shorter trips travelcard.

    General rule of thumb is Beat the Oyster card price and you got yourself a good deal.  You can purchase the oystercard or the travelcard from most of the underground stations.  Most of the regular travelers in London use Oyster Card to travel, because they know, at best oyster card is cheaper than the Travelcard and at worst same price as the Travelcard.
