why the effervescence is observed when limejuice is dropped on granite floor?

    Granite contains carbonates of calcium and magnesium. As you know carbonates are decomposed to carbon dioxide when added with acids. Lime juice contains citric acid which decomposes carbonates and forms calcium citrate which appears white.
