The new 2011 Dodge Durango is a full-size crossover SUV, first introduced in 1998 as a mid-size SUV to replace the Ramcharger. It has 4-door for up to 7-passenger available in 10 trims. It is available in two models as Express RWD and Citadel AWD. It has got new engines with enhanced performance. Express RWD has got a standard 3.6-liter, V6, 290-horsepower, flexible fuel engine that covers 23-mpg on the highway and 16-mpg in the city. The new 2011 Dodge Durango has 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive which is standard on both trims. The new Durango is assembled at the Jefferson Ave. Assembly Plant in Detroit, Michigan. The new Durango is available in two engines. The benchmark engine is a new 3.6-liter V6 engine that generate 290- horsepower (220 kW; 290 PS) and 260 lb•ft (350 N•m) of torque at 4,800 rpm. It achieves maximum torque from 1,600 to 6,400 rpm. The Pentastar V6 is connected to the Mercedes W5A580 five-speed automatic, having Chrysler's controls and also have the system of the driver-interactive control. The 5.7 L Hemi VVT V8 comes with 360-horsepower (270 kW; 360 PS) and 390 lb•ft (530 N•m) of torque, which also has the 5-speed automatic in the V6. The HEMI V8 is available with a "fuel-saver"(cylinder deactivation) mode. This characteristic is mainly used when the vehicle is traveling at constant speeds on level ground.
