    When Pakistan went on to beat Sri Lanka in their second group match out of a close finish, it gave the nation some hope that the green shirts are likely to do well in this world cup .  After Pakistan broke the Australia's 34-run winning streak in the world cup matches there were hopes that Pakistan may well and truly win the world cup. Unfortunately, the semi-final match against India ended up their dream for becoming world champions for the second time after 1992.
