   Fredonia University is located on a busy Old Main Drive at the Fredonias 249 acres, this new Residence Hall and the Auxiliary Services Complex has a high demand of expanding enrollment and it must meet that demand. The State University of New York at Fredonia is known as SUNY Fredonia and it was formerly known as SUNY College at Fredonia in the four years liberal arts college which is located in Fredonia, in the state of New York. It is a college of the State University of New York.
   
   SUNY Fredonia was one of the teachers college which specializes in the music education, but it offers many large number of programs in many different areas which include a growing graduate division. The most popular areas are Communication, Music, Education and programs of the social sciences. There are almost 82 majors and 41 minors. The campus was originally opened in the year 1826 as the Fredonia Academy enrolled eight students under first Principal Austin Smith. Their first classes began on the October 4, 1826. Within one year time the Academy had almost 136 students which include 81 boys and girls.
   
   There are many types of Halls in the University such as Fenton Hall, Mason Hall. Fenton Hall was named after Reuben Fenton, who was a U.S Senator and Governor, he was born in Carroll in the Chautauqua County. The other hall is the Mason Hall which was home to the School of Music and it was named after the American music education pioneer named Lowell Mason. Other famous Halls of the University are Thompson Hall and Steele Hall.
